Many businesses are faced with the challenge of managing the waste wood they inevitably generate. While recycling may seem like the right option, it still involves transportation emissions, possible sorting errors, and rising costs. Shredding your waste wood onsite for use as biomass fuel offers an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative.

Waste wood, particularly from pallets and off-cuts, can be costly to remove from the site and a hassle to manage. A waste wood shredder provides a solution by turning this material into biomass boiler fuel. The Red Shred processes timber into G30 or G50 spec wood chips, ideal for biomass fuel stores, helping to reduce overall costs. Our Red Shred produces these grades in a single pass, offering significant savings in both time and money over other machinery.

This wood shredder is designed to handle a wide range of materials, including various types of pallets and general waste wood. Its powerful electric motor drives 19 reversible cutting tips that effectively reduce wood into smaller chips. A magnetic roller automatically separates scrap nails and metal debris during the shredding process, ensuring a clean, burn-ready final product. Not only that, but the scrap metal can be collected and sold to help offset running costs. In fact, pallets contain enough nails to provide a tangible financial benefit.

For businesses managing large volumes of waste wood, the Red Shred can process up to 50 pallets per hour. Its electronic stress control system helps prevent jams or damage. If the rotor encounters a large object or becomes overloaded, the system reverses automatically. This allows the shredder to run reliably, even when processing tough materials at high throughput.

The Red Shred has been specifically designed with pallets in mind. Its 1300mm-wide hopper can accommodate both Euro and UK pallets, reducing manual handling and improving safety compared to splitting the pallets via other manual methods.

An optional 5-metre conveyor can be attached to the shredder, allowing processed wood chips to be directly transported into your biomass boiler’s fuel store. This further simplifies the process, saving time and reducing manual handling. The Red Shred is highly adaptable to your site's particular space constraints. The unit is just as at home when operating in a fixed position as it is being transported via its fork pockets from one location to the next. The control board is equipped with a 3-phase commando plug to allow multiple setup points. Every Red Shred comes with its own portable access steps.

By converting waste wood into biomass fuel, businesses can lower heating costs and reduce the amount of waste sent offsite. Whether you’re processing timber pallets or general wood waste, this wood shredder turns waste wood into a valuable resource.

Treco can supply this wood shredder as part of your biomass system, giving you greater control over your fuel supply and helping reduce both wood waste disposal and heating costs.
