The Guntamatic PRO range of biomass boilers from Treco have been featured on Specification Online.
The article reads:
British businesses looking for medium to large scale biomass heat up one megawatt can now buy Guntamatic systems of this size.
This means proven designs, short lead times and a range of additional financial benefits including tax relief and a 15-25% ROI.
National biomass heat specialist Treco, Guntamatic’s exclusive UK distributor outside Northern Ireland, has launched the Guntamatic Pro range of Austrian manufactured boilers with an installed capacity of up to one megawatt.
Treco have completed over 600 installations in the UK, mostly Guntamatic, for commercial customers. They have already confirmed a first Guntamatic Pro order for one megawatt of boiler capacity, although details of this are commercially confidential. Guntamatic have over 15,000 systems installed and more than 50 Pro systems already sold in mainland Europe since the Pro launched there in 2012. The Austrian company recently celebrated fifty years as a specialist biomass boiler manufacturer.
Treco’s founder and managing director Gordon Traill said; “We are pleased that we can finally meet the growing demand we’re experiencing in the UK for systems up to one megawatt. The launch of the Guntamatic Pro brings a simple, modular system proven in Europe to mainland United Kingdom. With the Guntamatic range and our own installation teams we are using proven equipment, installed by experienced and highly qualified specialists.”
The Pro range brings legendary Guntamatic build quality and innovative designs to systems of up to one megawatt, made up from individual 175kW to 250kW biomass boilers in series. They are purpose-designed to stand alone or be used in series, offering greater reliability than with a single one megawatt system.
Gordon continued: “Biomass heat systems are still fairly new in the UK. However, businesses and entire communities have been using them for decades in other parts of Europe. The commercial Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) encourages medium-scale businesses to move to biomass. The numbers are compelling, with a tremendous 15 to 25% return on investment – a net gain of up to £242,000 a year. In addition, carbon emissions are typically reduced by 96% by switching from oil or LPG to biomass heat.”
“Treco and Guntamatic make delivery and installation to the customer fast, easy and flexible via a commercial relationship that focuses on delivering customers’ requirements. This means proven designs, short lead times, and excellent, predictable returns for biomass heat right up to one megawatt.”
In addition, the maximum Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) increased tenfold from £25,000 to £250,000 on January 1st 2013. This will revert back to a limit of £25,000 on 31st December 2014, so gives businesses a great opportunity to gain additional Corporation Tax relief by investing in biomass during this time.
"The maximum Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) of course increased tenfold from £25,000 to £250,000 on January 1st 2013. So a business investing up to £250,000 in a large Guntamatic system can now gain tax relief of up to £50,000 for a company or up to £125,000 for an unincorporated business per accounting year pro-rated until December 31st 2014.” said Tracey Watts, Tax Partner from Albert Goodman Chartered Accountants, Tax Consultants and Financial Planners.
“Combined with an up to £117,000 per year annual benefit in RHI payments and fuel cost savings from a larger Guntamatic biomass system, Treco can offer a net gain, in this period, of up to £167,000 a year to an incorporated company. However, an up to £242,000 a year annual net gain is available to an unincorporated business, versus a previous ceiling of up to £50,000. It’s simple – the sooner you invest, the greater the AIA tax relief is available."
